New Kaiako

Kia ora e te Whānau,

My name is Robyn Windley and I am excited to join the Rātā whanau.  I am originally from the Hawkes Bay, I have previously resided in Wellington, Palmerston North and over in the UK for a couple of years.  I am an experienced kaiako in both primary and early child in the state sector and am excited to learn and grow within this unique Montessori setting!  I will be working alongside the wonderful Tania while I train in the Montessori approach.  On Monday the tamarki and kaiako of Rātā class did a gorgeous mihi whakatau to welcome me including some special words and an enthusiastic waiata!  I have had the pleasure of having a chat with many of you and of course have been getting to know your lovely tamariki over the last week!  Please come and say hello if we haven’t yet met!

Happy Birthday Harrison!

On the 13th of June Harrison turned 7!  We celebrated with Harrison by doing a birthday walk!  Harrison loved wearing the special cape and talking about many of his cakes he’s had over the years as the Earth has continued to orbit the sun and Harrison has continued to get older, develop and grow!

Haere mai, welcome Leo!

On Wednesday the 19th of June Leo had his birthday and also excitedly moved into Rātā class!  The tamariki once again did a beautiful mihi whakatau to welcome Leo and sung with much enthusiasm!  Leo’s preschool kaiako, Tara, told us what a keen learner and leader Leo is and how much they have enjoyed having Leo and his whānau as part of Nikau!  Leo is settling so well into Rātā class and has many friends who have moved through from preschool recently.

Happy Matariki e te whānau!!!
