Kia Ora whānau,
Welcome to term 4!!
On the first day back of term we celebrated Damien’s birthday that he had over the holidays.
It was lovely to have Damien’s parents join us and have their insight about what Damien was like at different ages and of all the impressive cakes Damien has been lucky enough to have over the years.
We had some bead chains to unpack last week. The new equipment has created a buzz around making long bead chains and using these to order numbers, explore multiples of numbers and explore the relationship between ones, tens and hundreds.
Many of the ākonga have had lessons on nets of 3D shapes over the last couple of weeks. Learning about shapes and nets of shapes is beneficial to children to develop spatial awareness, foundational math skills, visual literacy, language development, problem-solving abilities, and cognitive development. It was great to see tuakana-teina in action within the classroom as ākonga problem solved and helped each other with this tricky task.
This week Abi published her humorous, imaginative story about super babies on the computer.
It has been great to see so much fabulous mahi going on to start the term!
