Kia Ora Whānau,

We had a busy end to the term!

For Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori we gathered as a full primary to sing a new waiata – Mahuru Māori, Tōku Reo, Tōku Ohooho.

Throughout our days here at kura we have many ways of incorporating Te Reo and Te Ao Māori into daily life.  Here are Leo, Archer and Buzz playing a  Matariki memory game and Harrison, Damien and Adeline practicing rakau and poi.

We had an amazing celebration for Peace Day!  We sung a couple of waiata, some kaiako and tamariki spoke about peace and what that means to them and we burnt some messages of peace so those thoughts went off out into the world as ash.

Tamariki in Rātā have been continuing with their keen interest in projects!  Amelia led a project with the help of Julene, Darcy and Evie about snakes.

Luka led a project with the help of Harrison, Levi, Tom Tom, Arthur and Manu about dinosaurs.

We all enjoyed sharing Caitlin’s birthday celebration by doing a birthday walk.

Ākonga are still highly motivated in Rātā to publish their work on the computer.  Leila published her recent writing on what peace means to her and Quynh-Vy published her writing about Halloween.

Haere mai to Archer and whānau!
Archer has recently moved from Kauri class to Rātā.  We welcomed him and his whānau with a mihi whakatau.

We hope you have had a good couple of weeks and look forward to seeing everyone back next week for term 4!
